About

collage of shelleywestBorn and raised in Trinidad, Shelley-Ann J. West has been interested in technology since she was very little. She started her career as a programmer but her creative side won out and she changed direction to pursue a more creative path. She has worked in design, education, and consulting.

Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Barry University and a Master of Professional Studies in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University. She has worked on such major brands as Samsung, Citibank, Pfizer, IBM, Abbott Labs, Kraft, Novartis, Virgin America, JC Penney and American Express.

She has taught college level courses in Project Management, Interactive Telecommunications, Information Design, Screen Design & Graphics, Interactive Authoring using Director, Fundamentals of the World Wide Web and Basic Web Scripting.

Shelley’s focus in graduate school was User Interface Design, Information Architecture, Usability, Accessibility and Cognitive Issues; specifically as those issues applied to designing for children.

She is an early adopter and reads way too many books and magazines. At last count she had about 12 magazine subscriptions. Besides reading and technology she also enjoys gardening, yoga, drawing, dancing, photography and trying new things. Shelley also loves going to watch animation, science fiction and action movies.

This site is Shelley’s alone, so that means that it doesn’t represent the thoughts, views, opinions or practices of past or future employers/clients, friends, family, pets, children, or that irritating neighbor who likes to play music at 7am when you’re trying to sleep late on the weekends.
